Len Stevens Scholarship

  • In 2011, the Melbourne School of Engineering (MSE) launched an Appeal with the ambitious goal of raising $500,000 over three years to establish The Len Stevens Scholarship in perpetuity.

We are delighted that the generous support of our alumni, friends and the MSE Foundation enabled this goal to be reached, and even exceeded!

Professor Len Stevens AM has played a crucial role in the changing face of Australia’s infrastructure since graduating with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 1950. It has been a sincere pleasure for all of those involved to work with Professor Stevens to honour him in this way, and we remain grateful for the generosity and advocacy which made this possible.

The Len Stevens Scholarship will continue to support our most talented graduate students in the pursuit of opportunities beyond the immediate requirements of their course.

The inaugural recipient, Jing Ming Ren, made the most of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to pursue his polymer research in the IBM Almaden Research Centre in San Jose, California.

The 2013 Len Stevens Scholar, Eric Lambers, used his summer break to look at direct geothermal energy projects around the world, and consider the technology’s practical application in Australia.

We look forward to celebrating with you the impact of the Len Stevens Scholarship on generations of exceptional students in the years to come.
